Hey, neighbors! I’m Erin.
Can’t claim to be an OG follower of the Future Neighbor channel, but I was so lucky to stumble upon it earlier this year via the Youtube recommendations after bingewatching about a hundred maangchi videos in a row (what can I say…watching cooking videos is my favorite calm-down activity). And I’m so glad I did!
I’m in my mid-20s, and I’ve been helping my dad in the kitchen since I was a little sprout (and more often than not sneaking bites of everything before it’s ready). I’ve liked Korean food for a while, but it wasn’t until this year that I got really into trying to recreate the recipes, and was pleasantly surprised to find how simple it can be to make authentic, great-tasting dishes at home. Aside from the dallae/sedum bibimbap, of course—if anyone knows where I can get those in the SF Bay Area, give me the hookup…
Other than that, I work in audio production (mostly doing podcasting/sound design and hardware troubleshooting), and in my free time I enjoy singing, writing, and hanging out with my three geckos.
Love the channel, Dan-yul and Katie, and it’s always a highlight of my day when you post a new video. Can’t wait to see what comes next!

Hi Erin! A warm personal welcome to the Neighborhood 🙌 First off, I’m surprised that you mentioned Dallae Bibimbap. It’s one of those more artisanal dishes that’s not well-known. But people who have it, really love it! We eat alot in the summer, when dallae is more widely available.
Second, cool to hear that you’re in audio production. You mention that you’re doing troubleshooting – but do you also have our own podcast? Drop us a link, be curious to listen in!
Anyhow, happy to hear that you’re cooking more in the kitchen. By the time you’re in your 30’s… you’re going to really appreciate that skillset hehe.
